Why is this service free?

Prior to the 2021 Water Services Act, the Ministry of Health recommended homeowners rainwater systems be checked every 12 months. But most people didn’t — either because they didn’t know how, didn’t want to pay, or simply thought “she’ll be right.” 


The truth is, rainwater systems can go wrong - and go wrong fast. Many we see are poorly designed, underperforming, or in some poor-state-of-repair. So that is where RAINMAN® comes in!


RAINMAN® offers our FREE annual system check as a community service. Since 2019, we’ve visited thousands of Kiwi homes, giving honest, expert advice that helps families stay healthy and confident in their water.


Yes — it often leads to ongoing service work, and we’re upfront about that. But whether or not you choose to use our services immediately or in the future, our check itself has no charge and is completely obligation-free.

  • FAQ: Is the system check really free?

    Yes — totally free, with no strings attached. We're here to help, whether you hire us later or not.

  • FAQ: Do I need to be home?

    Not always. If we can access your tank — and ideally the pump — we can carry out the inspection and send you our inspection report via TXT or WhatsApp.

  • FAQ: What if I need work done later?

    No problem. We save your system report, so we can jump back in any time with a quote or service — no need to start over.

  • FAQ: Where is this service available?

    We’re currently focused on the Gulf Islands, Coromandel, Waikato, and Central North Island. We aim to expand nationwide by 2026.


    Our FREE check is available to properties within 20 km of any NZ Top 50 town or city.
